Alfons ter Avest's permanent "lace" picnic table

On our trip to Holland we ran across this picnic table by Alfons ter Avest in Amsterdam neighborhood Prinsen Eiland. It was cut out of styrofoam boards, then cast in steel and painted white. It has a beautiful fragile impermanent and delicate quality to it, yet it is made of steel.
